Our Signature Cocktail: The Bloomsbury Boozer

Our fabulous Bloomsbury Boozer is one of Parker’s Tavern’s most loved cocktails and is in full bloom right now…pun intended.

So what’s the story behind this signature cocktail? Named after the Bloomsbury Set, a formidable group of writers, academics, intellectuals philosophers and artists who met right here in Cambridge during their boozy student days. To name a few, Virginia Woolf, John Maynard Keynes and E.M. Forster. And what better way to celebrate them than with a Bloomsbury Boozer…or two.

Made with elderflowers, raspberries, lemon and locally distilled Gin, from of course the Cambridge Distillery, and then garnished with a raspberry foam, it celebrates seasonal and local ingredients and is at it’s very best right now. The elder trees are in bloom and the first of the raspberries are coming through, the Bloomsbury Boozer speaks of the season and is the perfect vehicle for bringing all of these wonderful ingredients together.

I hope to see you soon in the bar enjoying this signature summer-time drink.

My very best,

Tristan Welch, Chef Director at Parker’s Tavern.
